Skip Brand, Lake Sonoma 50 Race Director LIVE from Healdsburg Running Company

Episode 158 coming to you live from Healdsburg Running Company. I love everything about this episode, the environment, Skip's energy and the subject matter which is basically, enjoy what you do in this life. Following suit to family tradition, after many years in the internet start-up world, Skip and his wife, Holly moved up to Healdsburg full-time and opened the town's first dedicated running store. A community first business model has allowed for many folks, near and far to get into the running community and adopt an active lifestyle. To know Skip and his team at HRC is to know that they are the most inclusive, funny and up for anything type of crew. "Couch to whatever" is one of their main mottos. We caught up with Skip the day after his annual Ironman showcase in Santa Rosa. He completed the race on a borrowed bike and 365 days out from his last training ride. Certainly not recommended but Skip is no rookie to endurance sports. He makes a habit of running at least a few 100-mile runs per year on top of other epic adventures like his upcoming Grand Canyon trip and of course, Ironman Santa Rosa. He is the race director of the Lake Sonoma 50 endurance run and he tells the story of how the great John Medinger asked him to take over. We hope you guys enjoy our chat with Skip and I can assure you, he's just as enjoyable to be with as he sounds. Namaste -Jess
