What You’ll Experience in Baja

Magdalena Bay is one of the most extraordinary places on earth — and almost nobody goes there. Every winter, grey whale mothers bring their calves to these protected waters. They approach the boats. You go eye to eye. You reach out and touch them. This is not whale watching from a distance — this is contact.

Eight days of yoga, glamping on the bay, desert hikes, dolphins, sea lions, and the kind of stillness that only comes from being completely surrounded by wild nature.

How You’ll Experience Baja

You'll fly into Cabo and transfer straight out into nature — a short drive from the artisan hum of Todos Santos and out to the whale watching mecca of Magdalena Bay.

You'll start your adventure overlooking the Pacific, hike desert trails, explore Todos Santos, and then head to the bay where grey whale mothers bring their calves every winter. You'll go out on the water daily — getting closer than you ever imagined possible — before returning to camp for yoga, sunset dinners, and the kind of quiet that only wild places offer.

Adventure and restoration. Every single day.

Accommodations

Colorful, comfortable rooms with air conditioning and ocean views. Cool tile floors, private bathrooms, tastefully designed throughout.

Glamping on Magdalena Bay: safari-style tents with real beds, rugs and ensuite bathrooms. Because going eye to eye with grey whales deserved a proper night's sleep.

    • Plenty of time today to explore Todos Santos and enjoy lunch in a local beachside cantina
  • Head back for early evening yoga

DAY THREE

  • Today we’ll head out early for the drive up to Magdalena Bay
    • Gray whales use the bay as a breeding ground during the winter months and this is one of the best places in the world to encounter these gentle and inquisitive giants (and their calves)
    • The drive up to the bay will take approximately 3hrs, and a short boat ride, but the days on the water and the glamping along the shores make it all worthwhile
  • Unwind upon arrival at the glamping camp and enjoy the site of the bay to one side and protected estuary with mangroves, dolphins and tons of birds on the other
  • Enjoy safari-style yoga in the wild and revel in the nature all around you
  • Dinner overlooking the sand dunes and the bay (and maybe some whales!)

DAY FOUR

  • Sun-salutations (literally and figuratively)
  • Delicious local group breakfast
  • Head out on the water to explore and get hands-ons
    • Without any prompting or enticement, gray whale mothers and supportive dads regularly approach boats with their new calves
    • Go eye-to-eye with these amazing giants of the sea and, when close enough, reach out for an invited pat
    • Be aware that you’re in the splash zone – these big guys find it funny to blowhole splash the boats (haha)
  • Enjoy lunch back at camp and cycle through your amazing photos
  • This afternoon enjoy kayaking through the protected tidal estuary and, if you’re lucky, spy some fun-loving dolphins and other marine life
  • Early evening yoga
  • Sunset dinner and glamp-relaxing and bonfire

DAY FIVE

  • Enjoy a lazy morning yoga wake-up & breakfast
  • This morning you can hit the dunes or head back out on the estuary – our expert guides love to share their birding chops
  • Enjoy lunch at camp and get ready for another day on the water
    • Head back out on the bay because there’s no such thing as too much ‘whale time’
    • Say hello and get up close and personal with new friends or the same curious individuals you met yesterday
  • Evening yoga to relax out the nature buzz
  • Relaxing group dinner and happy hour at ‘home’

DAY SIX

  • Morning yoga, breakfast and packing
  • Time to leave the majesty of the bay behind and head back south as your new friends contemplate a swim north
    • Pile in for the drive back to ‘civilization’ and the Todos Santos area and enjoy lunch en route
  • Arrive back in the afternoon with time to swim or enjoy a massage
  • Early evening yoga
  • A dinner out in town tonight welcomes you back to the bustle and hum of life

DAY SEVEN

  • A late and lazy morning yoga followed by a delicious breakfast
  • Set off this morning for Todos Santos and a, surprisingly older-than-you-think historical walking tour
    • Enjoy time in town post group-stroll or head over to the beach for a last day of sun and sand
  • Enjoy a light lunch in town
  • Come back ‘home’ and apron-up so you can chop, dice and cook your way through a final Mexican feast (and take home a few cooking hints)
