Coach Jess on Earning her First Buckle at Javelina Jundred
YogiTriathlete was born from a realization that endurance sports and yoga took me to the same place but from very different directions. I knew it was something, and even as the domain sat dormant for years, it's power grew. Over that time, I also grew while being completely unaware of where it was leading me.
Each day I keep the momentum moving forward and listen intently to the relationship I've developed with my inner compass. It continually asks me to do things that scare me, and it has taught me the truth about momentum which is that every experience we encounter is there to assist us in moving forward. If momentum halts, it's because we are resisting the life circumstances that have come our way.
Remaining solution-oriented and continuing momentum are what separates those who live out dreams and those who simply dream. When we decide each day that we will not resist but yield to our life situation, we may just be surprised at what we accomplish with ease. Perhaps even with a sustained sense of deep peace.
Today, BJ and I dive into my experience at the Javelina Jundred 100k. This epic party in the desert is all that it is cracked up to be, all the while, hundreds of runners going after their goals to complete one of the two distances available, 100-kilometer or 100-mile. We chat up my training prep, race strategy, nutrition, essential gear, and of course, the mighty mental game.
I'm pretty confident we cover it all, but if you have more questions, please reach out to us directly. We are here to support you guys as you support us. We are grateful to you all.
