High performance athlete Michael Warden is leaving his mark on the running scene. Marathons, ultra distance marathons, world records and a limitless vision brings greatness to everything he does. Balancing his roles as husband, father, full-time employee and runner, not to mention, his duties to his sponsors and the athletes he coaches, is not a life for the faint of heart. He is a dreamer and someone who plans to fulfill those dreams. Mike believes in relentlessly pursuing passion and continually pushing the limits of what has been made possible. He doesn’t believe in the impossible but still manages to land his feet down and maintain a lighthearted attitude in the moment. He knows how to navigate struggle and doesn’t underestimate the wisdom that comes with experience.
We sat down with him at his home in Arlington, VA to talk about his career, his secrets to finding balance, what it takes to turn inspiration into action and how he fuels his body. A plant-based athlete, he geeks out with us on the good stuff Mother Nature provides. You will hear our ridiculous excitement as we discuss subjects like hummus and avocado toast with the enthusiasm that plant-based athletes tend to do. Seeing food as fuel brings a higher element of choice and consciousness to any diet. For anyone who may think that a plant-based diet does not provide the nutrients needed for athletic excellence needs to look no further than Mike’s resume. Mike exemplifies what it means to live a limitless life and we’re all for a life of that caliber.
