Being on Team YogiTriathlete means that you will be held accountable and supported every step of the way. You will be challenged and encouraged to deepen your curiosity around what may be holding you back. Team YT athletes have contact with their coach through text, scheduled calls, and email. All athletes are encouraged to join Team YT’s Facebook community for BJ’s Monday morning live and weekly coaches chat on Fridays. Also, the team receives special offers through YT partnerships.

About our triathlon coaches:

BJ Gumkowski: 
BJ is YogiTriathlete’s head coach and co-founder. He is an 19x Ironman triathlete, Ironman Kona and 70.3 World Championship Qualifier, Boston Marathon qualifier, and triathlon/run coach. He finished 3rd overall in his first ultra-marathon race in 2022 and says he has no plans of stopping anytime soon. His mindset is tuned to limitlessness.

He is a 200-hr Live Love Teach trained yoga instructor and certified in Plant-Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. BJ’s coaching is all-encompassing – nutrition, mindset, and fitness.

Melissa Gansz: 
Melissa is a nature-loving triathlete and long-distance runner and holds a Master’s in Clinical Herbal Medicine. She has been an avid runner for 10 + years, with more recently focusing on marathon, ultra, and Olympic to 70.3 triathlon distances and recently competed at the Ironman 770.3 World Championships in Lahti, Finland. Melissa’s coaching surrounds running in addition to strength training, cross-training, mobility, and herbal medicine support. She is focused on whole-body wellness and can offer her athletes the option to incorporate herbs into their training program for optimal human performance.
