Mindset Training

“I have been working with Jess on meditation and mindfulness for over a year. I had a track workout this morning and usually, I would be stressed and anxious thinking about the paces and what I need to do. Now, I am more present and relaxed before a workout. Jess has taught me how do be in this moment, right here, right now. This breath. This work has not only improved my training and racing but also my life, especially as a parent and entrepreneur.” – Liz

Mindfulness is one of those things that sounds easy and yet can be difficult to put into practice. All you need to do is sit in silence and breathe. Yet, with every passing day, more and more studies come out extolling the benefits of mindfulness, helping with everything from the physical (like lowering cholesterol and blood pressure) to the mental (increasing compassion, focus and decision-making skills).

BJ and Jess believe that everyone should meditate because the world needs it now more than ever. But if you’re an athlete, there are even more reasons you should include meditation in your training. Meditation can reduce stress levels, which is key if you’re pushing yourself in training and even more important to help with those race-day jitters. Athletes who meditate report better sleep, better recovery times and an enhanced immune system.

Still not convinced that mindfulness can improve your athletic performance? If you practice visualization with your meditation, you can train your mind and body to accomplish specific goals and enhance your endurance levels. Meditation has also been proven to aid in coping with pain and dealing with fear, two concepts that can hold you back in accomplishing your training goals.

Jess has been on both sides of spectrum. Once chronically-stressed and overwhelmed, she credits mindfulness and meditation for transforming everything about her life including performance in sport. She skillfully articulates the teachings in a manner that is easily understood and applicable for modern day living. Meditation doesn’t have to be scary. Jess conducts mindfulness coaching through a variety of mediums including FaceTime, Skype and Google Hangout. All you need is a strong internet connection, web camera and working audio with built-in microphone.

Jess is practical in her application and compassionate in meeting her clients where they are at in their process. Transformation is an inside job but the guidance of a teacher offers great support for the journey. Let Jess show you the way.
