Our guest today is Sunny Lawrence, and as her name suggests, she is a ray of light for us all. She is real about her struggles and strengths and is no stranger to trying times. Sunny is the wife of James Lawrence, who we had on the show in episode 41.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, I’m referring to IronCowboy, who in 2015 rocked the world by completing 50 Ironmans in 50 states in 50 days. BJ and I were living in Rhode Island at the time; on the day that the Cowboy and crew arrived, we got to be a part of their Lil’Rhody adventure. I remember seeing Sunny that day and just being in awe at her level of support for her husband’s dreams and wondering if I could be as strong as her.
We are grateful to have her on the show today to get to know her better and understand how she manages to keep shining her light in the world.
In this episode, we discuss:
- your greatest strength is also your greatest weakness
- guiding children instead of telling them what to do
- living off $1000/month as a family of seven
- dumping our inner garbage to stay optimistic
- feeling defeated vs. being defeated
- explanations vs. excuses
- soaking in the swamp of victimhood
- belief repatterning
- knowledge is worthless without execution
