Next Stop, Running.

Two weeks post Ironman and I’m loving the fact that I did not sign up for anything else this season but that’s not because I don’t want to race. I can’t wait to get back out on a course but not to prove anything or take anyone down, I just want to get out there and practice yoga.  I believe I have found the source of my athletic addiction.  That said, I’ve got my sights set on the 4.4 run at The Sanity Chase in 5 weeks followed by the Newport half marathon 4 weeks later.  This time of year I usually tuck away my triathlon self, especially after a big one, and now that the dust has settled I am feeling ready to race again.  Fall running races are my favorites and I enjoy the focus of one sport training which leaves my swims and bikes just for fun.  I’ll also be adding in 3-4 heated power yoga classes on top of the this schedule as yoga is one practice that will never be on hiatus.

I like to have a training plan to follow but I’ve found that I don’t need a lot of interaction on forums or with coaches.  I  just like to be handed a simple plan and I’ll take care of the rest.   To prepare me for these fall races I enlisted the help of my husband Beej who put together this 5 week training plan leading up to 4.4 mile next month. Click on the image for the full plan – take it, use it and race with me in 5 weeks!
