Dr. Laurie Marbas knew her purpose was to become a doctor at the age of 10 and 19 years later, she attended medical school while simultaneously playing wife and a mother to three young children. Her climb was steep and motivation high. While in medical school, she wrote seven books making Dr. Marbas another YTP guest that leaves us with no excuses.
She received her dual degrees (MD and MBA) from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine and TTU School of Business. She is a double board-certified family medicine and lifestyle medicine physician who has been utilizing food as medicine since 2012.
She is co-founder of Plant-Based Telehealth, which provides access to plant-based lifestyle medicine across the United States, and she holds a license to practice medicine in all 50 states. In addition, she is co-founder of Healthy Human Revolution, which has the mission is to provide resources that will empower individuals with the knowledge, tools, and mindset to successfully adopt and sustain a whole-food, plant-based (WFPB) diet.
To sum it all up, she is a medical doctor in this modern world who believes that a whole food plant-based diet is often more potent than her prescription pad, and we want to shine a big ole light on that. We hope you enjoy the show.
